ORIGIN & PROCESSING
This noble and 100% natural Criollo cocoa powder was grown, harvested and gently processed in Peru. The Mangroovia organic cocoa powder has never seen the inside of an industrial plant, has not been chemically treated and therefore has the light color typical of natural and high-quality cocoa powder plus a fantastic fruity aroma! It contains a fat content of 22-24% and therefore occasionally forms lumps, which in this case is a sign of quality and naturalness.

EXCITING BACKGROUND INFORMATION
By "natural" we also mean that the cocoa powder has been processed purely mechanically and is cold-pressed. It has not been subjected to Dutch processing. In Dutch processing, cocoa powder is treated with lye to conceal low quality and high acidity. This makes the powder darker and milder. However, it is no longer natural but has been chemically treated in an industrial plant. This is the case for >90% of commercial cocoa, including organic cocoa. This means that many of the cocoa's important ingredients are lost.
